Dolores's Story
After graduation I worked for the City of Omaha (CETA) and then Mutual. I flew to London and married/eloped (9/1978)my high school sweetheart Buddy (CPrep) who was stationed w/the AirForce. Within 3 months we were stationed in Wichita KS. I divorced him in 1980 (mostly his bad behavior) and moved back to Omaha a year later (1981). I found an apartment close to my new employer Leo A.Daly (1981-88). I quit and worked next door at HDR Engineering (1988-95) as a specifications coordinator. I met my current husband in 8/85 and we married 1yr later 8/86 (beautiful wedding). He was 22 and I was 27. He is my hero and a great man/husband/father. My last job in the work force was Prohaska & Assoc Architectural/ Engineering. ...Expand for more
I lasted there for 2 yrs and quit in 6/97 because I was close to my due date w/my 4th child (finally a boy). My daughters were born in 87, 89, & 92. My oldest daughter is married and a full-time college student. My middle daughter graduated in 08 and is also a full-time student. My youngest daughter is a full-time senior. All 3 girls work part-time and also drive (which makes me crazy w/worry). My youngest son (my only son) is in 7th grade. He just turned 12 and is 6'250lbs. I'm blessed to have a family that sticks together thru good/bad times. Since 2001 I've been able to stay home and be a full-time "domestic engineer" dba "mother/ homemaker/maid/cook/secretary etc.".
